Communication

At GreythornECC we believe open communication to be a two-way stream between the centre and its families. Parent and Centre communication is one of our key strengths and one thing we think differentiates us!

Each day we share the activities of each child with their family. We have implemented a daily email in each Room called “What We Did Today” (WWDT), a snapshot of what the children have been doing that day. It is not only parents who receive this email - we even have grandparents requesting to be on the mailing list! This form of communication is unique to GreythornECC and allows all parents, even those who might be travelling, to remain in touch with what their child has been doing.

Carefully prepared program plans are sent out electronically to parents and are also posted on the notice board in each room. The focus of these plans is both on the expected learning outcomes for the whole group and also for the individual, with specific program plans for each of the children.  Parents are encouraged to contribute to the plans by providing suggestions or feedback and what they feel might be appropriate.

A quarterly newsletter is published electronically celebrating GreythornECC’s success and promoting what makes Greythorn “best of care”.  Contributions include articles from staff and parents, recipes from the Centre's kitchen and reports on the myriad of events the Centre hosts throughout the year.

The constant communication at GreythornECC to staff and parents is endless!
