Kira Hains | Early Learners

Hello, I’m Kira Hains and I work fulltime in the Early Learners Room.

I’ve recently completed my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, and have decided to continue my studies with my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.

My interest in working with children stemmed from time spent in Kenya when I finished high school where I volunteered in an orphanage for several months. It was there where I saw the impact an adult can have on a child and how children can prosper when they have a strong support system.

Outside of work, I love to travel, read books, listen to Podcasts, go for walks with my dog (especially along the river in Warrandyte) and spend time with my family and friends.

I grew up with my parents and sister (who now lives in New York) and enjoy my weekly dinners at my parent’s house and visiting their pets. I am a huge animal lover; if you spoke to those around me they would probably describe me as a ‘crazy animal lady’.

This has led me adopting our dog Daisy and me now volunteering with the organization that we adopted our dog from on weekends. My ideal Friday night would be spent on the couch in my pyjamas, doing a puzzle in front of the fire, watching a footy game and with some Thai takeaway for dinner.
