Incursions at Greythorn

At Greythorn, every term brings new adventures for curious minds and active bodies. We offer a calendar of consistent incursions as well as specialty experiences throughout the year that respond to the children’s emerging passions and complement our program.

From captivating performances and cultural celebrations to hands-on workshops in art, music, sports and active play, our incursions spark joy, build confidence and create memories children carry with them long after the day is done. Best of all, every experience is included at no extra cost to families, because every child deserves the chance to discover something extraordinary.

Monday’s

Jungle Shimmy

Led by Heidi, who has been visiting our centre for more than 10 years, Jungle Shimmy is a vibrant movement and rhythm class that encourages children to explore how their bodies can move. Through music, dance, and cultural rhythms, children develop coordination, balance, and confidence while having plenty of fun.

Hello Yoga Kids

Bec from Hello Yoga Kids runs a beautiful yoga and mindfulness program for our 3YO and 4YO Kindergarten groups each week. Her calm, warm nature helps children recognise and name their emotions, listen to their bodies, and build self-awareness. Bec often weaves her sessions into the current classroom program, creating meaningful connections for the children. A favourite across the centre, she usually visits during rest and relaxation time, guiding children through purposeful, grounding moments.

Tuesday’s

Musical Minds

Riley, our gentle and engaging music teacher, visits every classroom with his Musical Minds program. Through singing, rhythm games, and hands-on music-making, Riley helps children explore beat, pitch, and melody while encouraging creativity and self-expression. His approach supports language development, listening skills, and confidence as children experiment with sounds and instruments.

Wednesday’s

Ninja Sessions

Our ninja sessions are fast-paced, energetic, and full of opportunities for our 3YO and 4YO Kinder children to test their strength, agility, and coordination. Children learn valuable skills such as how to jump safely from heights, land without injury, and move their bodies with purpose. Incorporating elements of superhero play, these sessions blend gross motor skill-building with imaginative scenarios that keep children engaged and active.

Thursday’s

Active Sports

Justin’s Active Sports program is a much-loved fixture across the centre, with Justin bringing his energy, expertise, and passion for physical play each week. Children are introduced to new sports, techniques, and movement challenges that strengthen their skills in hand–eye coordination, teamwork, and spatial awareness. From ball games to relay races, Justin encourages a love of movement while building confidence and resilience.
