Penelope Keramitsis | Assistant Director & Educational Leader
I'm Penelope, the Assistant Director and Educational Leader at GreythornECC. In these roles, I work alongside our educators to foster a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.
I arrived at Greythorn just after the rebuilding and expansion of the centre 8 years ago, but my career in the early learning years’ sector started much before that.
I started in early childhood education as a casual educator, floating between classrooms, lending a helping hand and soaking up invaluable experiences while pursuing my university studies. Fast forward to today, and 15 years on, I still feel just as invested in this work as I did on my first day, just with a lot more experience behind the decisions I make now.
My passions include creative expression, science and mathematics, and watching children discover just how capable they really are. Every child arrives with their own ideas, questions and way of making sense of the world, and I love building a place where that gets to shine.
Most days you will find me in the office, however I make it necessary to be present in the classrooms as much as possible, guiding and leading our educators to uphold an excellent educational curriculum through supportive leadership and collaborative learning.
My background is of Greek heritage which has instilled a deep love for food and cooking. On the weekends you’ll find me enjoying going to the footy with my friends and family to support the Richmond Tigers at the MCG (and sometimes interstate!)
I love to explore new cultures through travel with my next travel destination being Japan! I am also an avid reader, love to collect shoes and earrings and regularly attend pilates classes.
